"Kino" is a Soviet rock band founded in 1981 by Viktor Tsoi and Oleksiy Rybin, one of the most popular rock bands at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. "Kino" was one of the most famous bands of the Leningrad underground, along with "Aquarium" and "Zoopark". The constant frontman, as well as the author of all the texts and music of the band, was Viktor Tsoi, after whose death the band disbanded almost immediately. "Kino" existed for nine years, during which he released 9 studio albums, several compilations and a significant number of concert bootlegs. The band recorded more than 300 songs, some of which were not released on albums.
The style of Kino's music and lyrics can be attributed to gothic rock, post-punk.
