A distinctive vintage Agat-18 half-frame film camera, dating from the 1980s and made in the Soviet Union.

The Agat-18 is especially interesting because it uses the half-frame 18 × 24 mm format. Instead of exposing one standard 24 × 36 mm frame at a time, the camera records two smaller photographs in the space normally used for one full-size frame. With a standard 36-exposure roll of 35mm film, this format can produce approximately 72 photographs.

The camera is compact, lightweight and has the characteristic minimalist Soviet-era design that makes the Agat-18 popular among vintage camera collectors and enthusiasts of unusual film formats.

A Little About the Agat-18
The Agat-18 is a fascinating example of Soviet compact camera engineering. Its unusual half-frame format was designed to make economical use of 35mm film, allowing significantly more photographs from a single roll.

The built-in Industar-104 lens has a 28mm focal length and an f/2.8 maximum aperture. The camera is fully mechanical and does not rely on modern electronic controls or batteries for its basic photographic mechanism.

Its compact size and distinctive orange exposure dial make it particularly recognizable to collectors.

Non-working — sold for parts, repair or display.
This camera is not currently working and has not been tested with film.
A spring is visibly protruding from the lower part of the camera, as shown in the photographs. This indicates that the camera requires repair/restoration before being used for photography.
The body also shows normal signs of age and previous use, including minor surface wear.
