Vintage Soviet Mineral Water Drinking Cup, 1970s Porcelain Spa Buvette Mug, Floral Lustre Ceramic Vessel, Ukraine Souvenir

A beautiful and unusual vintage porcelain mineral water drinking cup, also known as a spa drinking vessel or buvette cup.

This charming piece was made in the Soviet era, approximately in the 1970s–1980s, at the KremGES Porcelain Factory, later associated with the Svitlovodsk Ceramic Factory in Ukraine.

The maker's mark is especially interesting: it features a stylized pomegranate flower or flame-like motif. The red marking and “1-C” designation indicate first-quality production.

Unlike an ordinary mug, this vessel was designed specifically for drinking mineral water. Its distinctive hollow, sculptural handle also functions as a drinking spout, allowing the water to be consumed through the curved porcelain tube. Similar vessels were traditionally used at health resorts and mineral water spas.

The cup has a wonderfully decorative appearance. The porcelain is finished with a soft pearlescent lustre glaze that catches the light with a subtle iridescent sheen. On the front is a raised, scalloped medallion with delicate golden edging and a colorful floral design featuring a pink rose, warm yellow and orange flowers, and green leaves.

The elaborate curved handle gives the piece an elegant rococo-inspired look and makes it a wonderful display item even for someone who does not collect spa memorabilia.

A lovely addition to a collection of vintage Soviet porcelain, unusual drinking vessels, floral ceramics, spa souvenirs, or nostalgic European decor.
