This vintage Wizen DX Zen Motorized is a classic compact 35mm point-and-shoot film camera from the era when simple automatic cameras were becoming everyday family photography companions.

The camera features a 35mm glass lens marked “Glass Lens Made in Japan 1:3.5 35mm”, built-in auto flash, DX film-speed coding and motorized film transport. The “Zen Motorized” marking refers to the camera's built-in motorized film advance and rewind system.

A particularly interesting detail is the DX marking. DX coding allowed compatible cameras to automatically read the film's ISO/ASA speed from the coded markings on the film cassette. The Wizen M-616 version of this camera is documented as an early compact 35mm model with Japanese-made glass optics, automatic film winding/rewinding, DX coding and built-in flash.

Today, cameras like this are popular again among people who enjoy analog photography, vintage point-and-shoot cameras, 1980s design and the unpredictable character of shooting on film.

Vintage condition
The camera is in used vintage condition with visible signs of age and previous use.
There are scratches, scuffs and areas of surface wear on the black body, particularly around the front and edges. The metal screws show visible surface rust/corrosion consistent with age.
